The Redding Missfits and AC United are combining forces to send a team to compete in the United World Games in Klagenfurt, Austria in June 2010. The United World Games is expecting to host 5,000 athletes from 25 participating countries to compete athletically.
31 girls were invited to be a part of the team that will be coached by Mark Starr and assisted by Steve Hoxie. After a very competitive weekend of tryouts, a team of 16 players was selected to represent the USA at this international event.
Representing the Redding Missfits will be Adrienne Black, Allyssa Leffler, Brenna Groom, Elizabeth Lupercio, Kylie Bergstrom, Maia Chin, and Morgan Magnuson.
Representing AC United will be Aimee Miramontes, Ellessia Tijerina, Jaclyn Hollmer, Jenna Hinkle, Jessie McPhetridge, Katie Marshall, Meckenzee Pettis, Miranda Edwards, and Shelby Roady.
The team will be training at the Redding Soccer Park at 3:00pm-5:30pm on most Sunday afternoons until they depart for Austria. Fans are welcome to come out to the practices to show their support for the team. To download a copy of the training schedule, please click here.
